Actor Rajiv Bose & his Rocking 10 Years in Bengali Television & Film Industry


This is absolutely exciting news to share for all his fans and followers.



I have jumble of memories in this long phase of our friendship. And the one which goes without a miss is our first meet. It was long 11 years back while I was shooting for a TVC, I had spotted him and the coordinator introduced me to him. First thing he said, 'do show me how to enact'. But all through himself kept on improvising and asking me whether he should incorporate that in his performance. He maintained that even today. So now that I am going ahead in making on my first feature film, I cannot think of anyone else but him. 

Given a choice I will always choose him time and again over other most popular faces being the most articulated artist of our time. If I tell him this he will definitely laugh out loud with his boyish charm even today. He had always questioned me- why he is the only choice for a role. He keeps on asking questions till he is convinced that yes he is right fit for the role. He is absolutely a Director’s Actor.

This December will be 10 glorious years of his career as Actor in Tollywood Television & Film Industry. 10 years is indeed a long journey, but nothing could refrain him from going on with his simplicity and utmost dedication at work and also at his home. He continues to give his best in every medium he performs. Plus with his experience he has gained tremendous expertise and understanding of the different mediums or platforms.

No I am not a film critic, I am not here to give verdict on his performances. Rather let my wheels role through the memory lane exploring the different kinds of role he had played in this tenure. There were definitely his share of some hits and misses before reaching here today becoming what he is now. He who never takes prides in his achievements, the easy going and down to earth nature actor. Some of his works that I followed over years are as follows:

    ·      Short film- Alingon,Phirey Pawa,Bandhan, Reunion,Perception

He has pumped in newness in each character with his look, postures and dialogue delivery. He had given importance to each minute detailing while portraying the role so that his co-actors can also feel comfortable. Who can forget the scene when Babin aka Rajiv had experience his first kiss from Priti aka Ena Saha in Alingan Short film. Such was the innocence, such was the comfort zone to the then newcomer.

Now he is on the move to the next level. You can find him in a dreadful villainous character in Zee Bangla Serial- Krishnokoli. His spirit for exploring new and achieving more takes him high on the ladder of upheld sky. He undermines the established norms while characterization of his role. There is strange cleverness and smartness incorporated in the character that could easily strike a chord with the audience.

Breaking the trend is not an easy thing considering the fact there is high tendency of type casting. Still he took up this challenge and by far the most handsome villain in Bengali Television.

I have never encountered someone so humble which is immensely helpful while working with both old and especially new directors. Anyone can call out to him for a creative job, he will give same enthusiasm to the job as working with any veteran professional. I salute the good human being in you and respect the true artist who has evolved over this long ten years.
